Youth Groups

Waivers are required for every person who enters the building. Please have EVERYONE fill out waivers prior to your event date. You will also receive the waiver link in your confirmation email.  https://waiver.roller.app/skateworldsandiego/ 

We STRONGLY recommend signing it in advance as it is the biggest slow down during party check ins and we want everyone to get skating as soon as possible. EVERYONE regardless if they are skating or watching must sign a waiver to enter the building. 

Group Rates - 2 hour events offered during holiday/summer weekday Public Skate Sessions usually 12-2pm or 2-4pm for youth groups 10-51+. Must be booked in advance to receive a discount. Pre-packaged sack lunches allowed. No other outside food or drinks allowed.

Fundraisers - 3 hour events offered Wed, Thur, Friday 5-8pm. Must be booked in advance, but payments can be made by individuals up to a week in advance or at the door before 7pm. No outside food or drinks allowed.

Facility Rentals - Youth Groups - 2 hour events with option for a Buyout for just your group. Usually held weekdays 10am-12pm or 12-2pm (and occasionally 2-4pm). 10% non-refundable deposit required. Pre-packaged sack lunches allowed. No other outside food or drinks allowed.

The Facility Rental - Youth Groups at Skateworld are offered on weekdays when we are not normally open to the public from 10am-12pm or 12-2pm, making them a perfect choice for field trips, end of school year parties, non-profit events, youth camps, and daycares looking to host memorable gatherings. 

Available during off times, a limit of 3 organizations will have access to the rink making it easier to enjoy your event with lots of room for skating fun! Don’t want to share with any other groups? Just make sure to choose your 50 person package plus at least 51 extra guests in order to guarantee a Buyout. Everyone who walks through the door is charged and counted toward the total (except for the 5 free adult chaperones included in your package)

We follow the San Diego Unified Calendar. Holidays and school breaks may affect availability 

We will play Top 100 from 80’s-today hits during all events. While we do take requests we cannot guarantee that we will be able to play them because of the appropriateness of the song, time constraints, or unavailability of the song in our system. 

Skating games are fun at Skateworld! We usually play Red Light Green Light or Limbo as well as skating activities like the Cha Cha Slide, Hokie Pokie, Cupid Shuffle, etc.

Arrival time is 15 minutes prior to the start of your event. Your event/rental time begins immediately at your scheduled event time. All guests must vacate the building no later than 5 minutes after the scheduled end time of your event. Failure to do so will result in an additional hourly charge equal to half the cost of your event.

We cannot accommodate early arrivals beyond the 15 minutes prior to your event time. We will ask you to return to your vehicle or come back closer to your event time. Please note that we ask that you meet outside 15 minutes prior to your start time to give our staff time to help you gather your group all together in order to enter the building right at your scheduled time.

The minimum cost for Facility Rentals - Youth Groups is $500 for up to 50 people. This discounted rate is only offered to youth groups like schools, non profits, youth camps, scouts, boy/girls clubs, and daycares. Not available for corporate events, teams, large groups, etc. Must show proof through EIN/Business License/etc.  A 10% deposit is required to book (non refundable after 48 hours).

​Everyone is counted toward the 50 person total whether they are skating or not (except for the 5 free adult chaperones included in your package). Any guest over the included 50 admissions will be charged $5 each, regardless of whether they are skating or not.

​To help prevent any problems, and for the safety of your youth skaters, you are required to bring enough adults to assist your group. We recommend a 1:5 ratio: 1 adult for every 5 students in the group. You are required to have at least one adult for every 10 students. To help with offsetting the cost of this we offer 5 adult chaperones free of charge. Any additional adults will be charged full price whether they skate or not. 

Groups including youth guests with disabilities may bring one adult per student needing assistance at no extra cost. 

Planning on having parents come to our event but pay separately? We can accommodate that but you must let us know at least 24 hours in advance of your event. Just a reminder, everyone is counted as a paid admission whether they skate or not (except for the 5 free chaperones provided with your package)

No substitutions allowed, the packages cannot be changed. (i.e. you cannot sub the adult chaperones for youth tickets.)

Outside sack lunches are allowed, as long as they are individually pre-packed and the group agrees to clean up after themselves, only eat at their designated tables, and designated food time. No other outside food, drinks, coolers, or ice are allowed, except for bottled water.

Facility Rentals - YOUTH GROUP only allow schools, non profits, youth camps, scouts, boy/girls clubs, youth sports teams and daycares. Not available for birthday parties, corporate events, teams, large adult groups, etc. You must be prepared to show proof through EIN/Business License/etc if requested.

Skateworld does not permit filming or professional photography to reserve time through this portal. If you are interested in filming or photography at our location, please contact info@skateworld.com via email for further information. Skateworld does not allow anyone, including promoters, to resell tickets to any event, including Facility Rentals.

Customers can request booking modifications, upgrades, and date changes up until 7 days before their event. Customers can also request a full refund within 48 hours of booking, as long as the booking is made more than 7 days before the event. After 48 hours, there are NO REFUNDS. With proper notice (as mentioned above), we are happy to reschedule your party for up to six months from the originally scheduled event date.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking (non refundable after 48 hours). The remaining balance is due upon check-in of your event, and can be paid via credit/debit card, cash, or business check (no personal checks). Failure to provide payment may result in immediate cancellation of your event in progress. 

We allow Purchase Orders to any organization who has held an event and paid their invoice in full at Skateworld in the last 5 years. Invoices are due no later than 7 days after your event takes place.

If (at the time of booking) you select 100+ PAID guests (the 50 person package plus at least 51 more paid guests) then you will be able to have the entire facility for just your group for your two hour event. Please note: the 5 free chaperones are not counted toward the total. 

To secure an exclusive buyout of the rink, you need to select the option for over 100 paid guests at checkout or let us know at least 5 days in advance (depending on availability). However, please note that you must pay for a minimum of 100 guests, regardless of how many people actually show up on the day of the event. We suggest reserving only the number of guests you expect to attend, as our payment thresholds are set at 50 and 100 people. If you anticipate having between 50-99 guests but still want the buyout package, you will need to pay for a minimum of 101 guests. 

Parking is available in the front parking lot, behind the rink by the Linda Vista Library, and in the grocery center. Please refrain from parking in front of any businesses with marked stalls.
