Party Planner

Parties are booked online ONLY. We do not accept phone bookings in order to have each party agree to the terms and conditions in writing. Parties must be booked at least 5 days in advance. 

Full payment is required at the time of booking (non refundable after 48 hours). Any additional add ons are due upon check-out of your reserved party area and can be paid via credit/debit card or cash.

Planet Parties - 10-14 guests

Galaxy Parties - 15-30 guests

Semi Private Parties - 50-75 people

This is a 2 hour event, 1.5 hours of skating followed by 30 minutes of reserved party area time. Party table access is only permitted during your reserved party area time. However, you're welcome to use any available seating in the open seating lobby area beforehand.

Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Guest Lists will be confirmed, waivers will be checked, and guests will be wristbanded. The Guest of Honor receives a birthday pin. 

Scheduled event time- Everyone enters the building , checks in, grabs skates from the skate counter and hits the skating rink for some skating fun

1:20 - Everyone is called off the floor to remove their skates, return rentals to the skate counter, and to head to the party table in the lobby for 30 minutes.

1:30 - If ordered, food and drinks are served 

1:45 -Sing happy birthday and serve cake

1:50 - Everyone will be reminded that 10 minutes until party is over and staff will begin clean up

2:00 - Guests will be directed to vacate the party area and head to the exit. Staff will clean up the party area to prepare for the next party.

Arrival time: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Guest Lists will be confirmed, waivers will be checked, and guests will be wristbanded. The Guest of Honor receives a birthday pin. Party will be shown to their party area in the shared Galaxy Party room for 2 hours.

Scheduled event time - everyone wristbanded  grabs skates from the skate counter and hits the skating rink for some skating fun. 

:45 - food and drinks are served. 

1:15 - Sing happy birthday and serve cake

1:50 - Reminder is given that there are 10 minutes until the party room time ends, and staff will begin clean up. 

2:00 -  Guests will be directed to vacate the party area and may continue skating if they wish. Staff will clean up the party area to prepare for the next party.

3:00 - End of event! Please vacate the rink

Scheduled event time - Everyone enters the building and grabs skates from the skate counter and hits the skating rink for some skating fun. Party will be directed to their exclusive use of Galaxy Party Room for 3 hours.

1:00 - If ordered, food and drinks are served. 

1:30 - if needed, sing happy birthday and serve cake

2:00 - party host will end food service. Any additional food/drinks can be purchased at snack bar

3:00 - end of event! Please vacate the rink. staff will clean up party room to prepare for next party

Planet Parties start at $25 per person

Galaxy Parties start at $30 per person

Galaxy Semi Private Parties start at $20 per person

You may add additional guests as long as they do not exceed the maximum capacity specified in your party package.  If they are not on the guest list then they will be directed to pay general admission at the ticket office and will not have access to your reserved party area. 

In case you think that you might have invited more guests than what your package can accommodate, please reach out to us immediately so that we can check if an upgrade is possible. 

At Skateworld, we love to celebrate our guests' birthdays, and we want to ensure that everyone feels special on their special day. Please provide us with the names of all guests who will be celebrating at your event with us at Skateworld. With our party packages one (1) Guest of Honor skates free, any additional Guests of Honor will need to be included in your party guest total.

If you're planning on inviting parents to your event but want them to pay separately, there's no need to worry. Simply inform them that they will need to pay for general admission at the door if they wish to skate. 

Please keep in mind each guest may be accompanied by one non-skating adult chaperone at no change. Non-skating adult chaperones are not guaranteed seating in your reserved party area. 

After booking your event, you will receive a digitally fillable guest list within a few days. Please ensure that you fill out this list at least 48 hours before your party. Guests who are not on the list will be directed to the ticket office to pay for general admission and will not have access to the party area.

Please note that non-skating adult chaperones/parents do not need to be included in your paid guest count. However, they will not be provided with skates and will not have access to the reserved party area seating.

To ensure a seamless party experience, it's crucial that you prioritize two things: Firstly, ensure that the guest list is accurate and up-to-date and that you finalize both the guest list and food order 48 hours prior to the party. Secondly, inform everyone that if they aren't on the guest list, they will need to purchase General Admission tickets upon arrival, and they won't have access to the party and party area. Additionally, remind all attendees, whether they will be skating or not, to complete a waiver. After that, all you need to do is bring the cake and your guests, and we'll take care of the rest!

Check-in time is 15 minutes prior to the start of your event. While we will do our best to accommodate early entry, we cannot guarantee access to the facility before the scheduled event time. Your event/rental time begins immediately at your scheduled event time. All guests must vacate the building no later than 5 minutes after the scheduled end time of your event. Failure to do so will result in an additional hourly charge equal to half the cost of your event.

We cannot accommodate early arrivals beyond the 15 minute check in time. We will ask you to return to your vehicle or come back closer to your event time. Please note that 15 minute check in time will be conducted outside and will give our staff time to help you gather your group all together in order to enter the building right at your scheduled time.

Under no circumstances is alcohol or anyone who appears intoxicated or incapacitated allowed in Skateworld or on roller skates!

All party packages may bring in one (1) cake with no additonal charge.  Please note that we do not allow ice cream cake or ice cream poducts. 

Planet Parties - No food or drink allowed except for one (1) cake.

If you pay the outside food fee with Galaxy Package or have booked a Semi Private Package, then you are permitted to bring in any outside food with the exception of pizza, ice cream, and drinks. 

Please note that Skateworld does not allow any on-site food preparation, including the use of burners or warmers. All food must be prepped and ready to be served upon arrival. No coolers are allowed.

All youth, aged 3 & up, must be included in your paid guest count. 

Please note that non-skating adult chaperones/parents do not need to be included in your paid guest count. However, they will not be provided with skates and are not guaranteed seating in your reserved party area.

Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance for any last minute additions including guests, food, drinks etc. No substitutions are allowed, the packages cannot be changed. (i.e. you cannot sub pizza for another food item)

Upgrading from a Planet to a Galaxy can be difficult as we book early. Please contact us ASAP to verify if an upgrade is available. 

Unfortunately, we are usually unable to offer an extension to your table time beyond the duration specified in your package. However, if there happens to be additional time available, you may be able to extend your table time by paying $50 per half hour. We recommend checking with your party host during the check-in process to see if this option is available.

Waivers are required for every person who enters the building. Please have EVERYONE fill out waivers prior to your event date. You will also receive the waiver link in your confirmation email.  https://waiver.roller.app/skateworldsandiego/ 

We STRONGLY recommend signing it in advance as it is the biggest slow down during party check ins and we want everyone to get skating as soon as possible. EVERYONE regardless if they are skating or watching must sign a waiver to enter the building. 

You are welcome to decorate your designated party tables as per your liking. However, please note that certain decorations are not permitted, including banners, signs, piñatas, glitter, or anything that needs to be hung on the walls or doesn't fit on the tables. You are allowed to bring balloons, but we recommend using balloon weights to keep them within your assigned party area.

Customers can request a full refund within 48 hours of the time of booking, as long as the booking is made more than 7 days before the event. After 48 hours, there are NO REFUNDS. With proper notice (as mentioned above), we are happy to reschedule your party for up to six months from the originally scheduled event date.

We will play Top 100 from 80’s-today hits during all events. While we do take requests we cannot guarantee that we will be able to play them because of the appropriateness of the song, time constraints, or unavailability of the song in our system. 

Our team will take care of setting up your designated party area with all the necessary items such as plates, cups, napkins, and utensils. They will also serve your food and drinks during the reserved table time and clean up once you are finished. 

You are more than welcome to bring your group in to just skate and pay general admission at the door. Just make sure to leave all food, cake, drinks, and presents as none are allowed through the door unless included with a pre-booked party package. We are serious about this one! We will make you return your cake and/or other food items to your car!

Gratuity and tips are not included in the package price, but are greatly appreciated by our hardworking team. You may choose to give your server a tip at the end of the event by either cash or credit card. 

We follow the San Diego Unified Calendar. Holidays and school breaks are generally available to book.

We welcome guests of all ages to host an event and celebrate with us. Our only exceptions are events scheduled during our Adult Night skate sessions which are restricted to those who are 18 years old or older.

Skateworld guests who hold Skate Club memberships do not participate for free at birthday parties and must be included in the skater/guest total if they plan to participate.

Unfortunately, only skaters are allowed on the skating floor. If you have a child who needs assistance we  recommend practicing on the carpet first until they feel confident enough to try out the floor!

You are welcome to use your own skates as long as they pass our safety inspection. Our safety inspection consists of: making sure they are in good working condition, cleanliness (no dirt stuck in the wheels or toe stop/brake) and making sure there are no dangerous bolts sticking out. All skates must have toe stops or jam plugs. 

Parking is available in the front parking lot, behind the rink by the Linda Vista Library, and in the grocery center. Please refrain from parking in front of any businesses with marked stalls.
